San Francisco, CA -- (September 19th, 2011): Good Vibrations, the trusted San Francisco-based company that takes pride in providing accurate information on sexuality and toys for grown-ups, has announced a new partnership and promotion with the National Breast Cancer Coalition as part of their corporate giving initiative, GiVe

From September 15th to October 31st Good Vibrations’ customers can show their support for the fight against breast cancer by making a financial gift to the National Breast Cancer Coalition at the time of their Good Vibrations purchase where 100% of their donation goes to NBCC.  Customers can also feel the “power of pink” by purchasing select items with 10% of the purchase going  to NBCC.  Select products are the Toyfriend Starlet, Jimmyjane Form 3 and Form 4, Rocks-Off Groovy Chick, OhMiBod Better Than Chocolate, LELO Siri and Gigi, and GV Wholesale’s Butterfly Kiss, all in pink.  Online shoppers can see the selections on the GiVe Partner page.

Founded in 1991, the National Breast Cancer Coalition is a national grassroots organization whose mission is to end breast cancer by focusing on three main goals:

  • RESEARCH: Increasing appropriations for high-quality, peer-review research and working within the scientific community to focus research on prevention and finding a cure
  • ACCESS: Increasing access for all women to high-quality treatment and care, as well as breast cancer clinical trials
  • INFLUENCE: Increasing the influence of women living with breast cancer and other breast cancer activists in the decision making that impacts all issues surrounding breast cancer

Since 1991, the mission of the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) has been to end breast cancer through action and advocacy. Now, NBCC has set a deadline: Breast Cancer Deadline 2020® – the end of breast cancer by January 1, 2020. Breast Cancer Deadline 2020® brings together unprecedented collaborations among scientists, visionaries, and advocates to catalyze, plan and implement work in two major areas: prevention and saving lives. NBCC links hundreds of organizations and tens of thousands of individuals into a dynamic, diverse coalition to achieve its goals and to give breast cancer a meaningful voice in Washington, DC and state capitals, in laboratories and health care institutions, and in local communities everywhere.

The Coalition's sister organization, the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, empowers and trains these advocates to be effective in every aspect of the fight to end breast cancer. NBCC gives women the tools to make their own informed decisions and take a leadership role with legislative, scientific and clinical decision makers. NBCC also helps guide the public through the maze of information on breast cancer.

The Good Vibrations - NBCC nonprofit partnership highlights Good Vibrations’ longstanding commitment to women’s health and well-being.  Good Vibrations C.O.O. Jackie Strano explains, "It has been wonderful to collaborate with our vendors on this meaningful promotion.  We appreciate the work that NBCC does. We are proud of our company’s core mission, vision, and values and this campaign brings those principles directly to our customers in a fun and engaging way. Everyone can feel good.”

For over 30 years Good Vibrations has partnered with hundreds of local and national non-profit organizations.  By donating products, advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers, along with a percentage of retail sales, the company has provided much needed support for women’s shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits, sexuality education, disaster relief and much more, detailed on their GiVe page.

Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen says, "We're especially excited that this organization's terrific work includes advocacy training so that women themselves be such a powerful influence for fighting breast cancer. Just as Good Vibrations' focus has always been empowering women to be the true experts about their own sexuality, NBCC makes sure women's voices and experience are central to this critical health issue."
