Good Vibrations launches new weekly column "Sexy Sex Newsy News"

Dr. Carol Queen Shares Insights on Sex in the News

San Francisco (September 13th, 2013): Wondering how to make sense of the cultural implications of Miley Cyrus' twerk-fest or the dubious implications of testicle size and fathering? Good Vibrations Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen now offers fun, sexological insight on current events in her new weekly column, "Sexy Sex Newsy News". From the latest "research" to pop culture phenomena, Dr. Queen cheerfully sums up a week's worth of sex news with a wink and a side of sociology.

Dr. Queen has been the Education Dept. director at Good Vibrations and on staff for 23 years and serves as Staff Sexologist and historian for Good Vibrations, the trusted San Francisco Bay Area based company that takes pride in providing accurate sexual health information and quality sex toys. She also curates the company's Antique Vibrator Museum. A regular presenter at conferences, workshops, colleges, universities, trade shows, and community-based organizations, she is also a published author. Her books and writings on sex, gender, and cultural sexology are referenced at colleges across the country. Dr. Queen is regularly booked to weigh in with an expert opinion from cable TV, indie documentaries, and news shows alike. She is also the founding co-director of the Center for Sex & Culture, a non-profit sex ed and arts center in San Francisco, and in addition to her column in the Good Vibes Magazine she also contributes to the Boston Dig.

"I have had the pleasure of working and collaborating with Carol for years and amidst the din of a sea of personalities in this digital age, we are proud to showcase a distinct voice and a sex positive cultural insight that is sorely needed," says Jackie Strano, Executive Vice President of Good Vibrations.

Carol Queen brings her degrees in sexology and sociology to offer her take on topical and perennial cultural issues (gender, shame, access to accurate sex education, etc.). From James Franco's sexy roast, the Fifty Shades phenom to more sobering topics such as rape culture in the news, Dr. Queen offers lends a thought provoking perspective on media literacy.
