Good Vibrations Announces "Bling My Vibe" Sex Toy Crafting Contest

Sex-Positive Pioneer Celebrates 36th Birthday with Vibrator Art Show

SAN FRANCISCO (January 15th, 2013): Good Vibrations is celebrating thirty-six years of pleasure with a month of promotions and festivities including Bling My Vibe!, a vibrator crafting contest open to the public.

What it is:
Bling My Vibe! invites sex and art celebrities as well as members of the public to make an art piece using a simple Smoothie Vibrator. The vibrator base will be available at all Good Vibrations retail stores for $3 from January 15 through February 28 – while supplies last! The public is invited to paint it, decoupage it, bejewel it, sew it an outfit, or otherwise get creative with the vibrator “canvas.” These arted- and tarted-up vibes will be displayed at the Good Vibrations Polk Street store in San Francisco during the month of March, and on March 29th the top three winners will be announced at a special party and awards ceremony. The winners will receive a Good Vibrations gift basket and gift card valued at $300, $200, and $100 respectively.

Proceeds for the vibes will go to Our Bodies Ourselves, one of our GiVe non-profit partners during our Birthday month.>

Rules & Regs:

• You must use a Good Vibrations Smoothie or comparable hard plastic Smoothie-style vibrator as the basis of the art project.
• You may add any legal, non-contraband element/s to the vibrator you choose.
• Finished vibrators may be displayed at Good Vibrations, and photos of them become the property of Good Vibrations to be displayed on its website and any other contexts it deems appropriate.
• The artist will retain ownership of the vibrator itself, and the artwork may be claimed after the Good Vibrations art show is over.
• Good Vibrations employees are invited to submit a vibe, but are not eligible to win.
• Participants must be 18 years and over.

Deadline:
Mail or hand-deliver completed vibrators to Good Vibrations Polk Street starting January 15th and no later than February 28th. Store hours are Friday & Saturday: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm, and Sunday - Thursday: 10:00 am - 9:00 pm.
