Erectile dysfunction (ED) or erectile issues can occur due to a variety of or combination of physical and psychological factors. Physical factors can include heart or vascular issues that can impact blood flow to the genitals, low testosterone levels, taking certain medications or medical treatments. Psychological factors can include stress, anxiety (including performance anxiety), and depression. Certain lifestyle choices can effect erectile function as well, with smoking, excessive alcohol or drug use, poor sleep, and lack of physical activity can cause issues.
To find the root of your ED and navigate any underlying issues, speak with your doctor. If your doctor doesn't have training or isn't comfortable with this discussion, see a specialist.
