Good Vibrations Co-Presents Revisioning Sex and The History and Politics of Ladymade Porn at Upcoming Ladyfest Bay Area Film and Video Program

San Francisco, CA -- July 15, 2002 -- Legendary San Francisco-based sex toy retailer Good Vibrations and their video production arm Sexpositive Productions today announces they will co-curate, co-sponsor and co-present Revisioning Sex: Woman and Trans Produced Pornography (11 pm, July 27, Victoria Theatre) as part of the Ladyfest Bay Area film and video program. This clip show compilation will feature adult films directed exclusively by women and FTM (female to male) directors.

Good Vibrations Staff Sexologist and noted author and pundit Dr. Carol Queen will be hosting Revisioning Sex. Dr. Queen has an impressive background as a sex and relationship expert, adult film performer and sexual health educator. Dr. Queen also curated the Revisioning Sex clip show.

The following afternoon, July 27, Good Vibrations is co-sponsoring "The History and Politics of Lady-made Porn", an educational panel featuring leading sex educators, feminist activists and film directors/producers who will discuss the history, challenges and politics of woman-produced pornography (2 pm, July 27, Mission High School). The panel will include Dr. Carol Queen who will speak on behalf of Good Vibrations and as co-curator of Revisioning Sex.

Passes and Tickets

All film festival films, workshops and panels are included in the five-day Ladyfest Bay Area Pass. The three-day pass allows access to programming from Friday-Sunday. Pass holders gain access to Ladyfest's four other arts festivals which include music, spoken word, performing arts, visual arts and workshops. Five-day Pass: $70-$100 sliding scale. Three-day Pass: $55-$75 sliding scale. Passes can be purchased online at www.ladyfestbayarea.org or at Mod Lang Records, 2136 University Avenue, in downtown Berkeley. Special sale: buy three passes (either kind) and get $10 off each.

Single tickets are available for all events. Film day programs: $5, Film evening programs (5 pm and after): $7. Workshops and panels: $5. Sliding scale for all.

Riding the wave of riot grrrl/DIY "Ladyfest" festivals across the United States and Europe, Ladyfest Bay Area features five days of music, film and video, visual art, performance art and workshops made by women and transfolk.
