Sex Toy Retailer Adopts Newest Form of Social Networking
and Offers Tweet with the Queen to Get Your Sex Questions Answered in Real Time

SAN FRANCISCO – (April 7, 2009): Good Vibrations is evolving and adopting the newest form of social networking... Twitter.

While the San Francisco-based business has been around longer than any other sex toy retailer, they still consider themselves “early adopters,” and Twitter is just another great way to stay connected with their customers and the public.

Good Vibrations began using Twitter in August of 2008 to reach out to their customers in Boston and California. Today, they boast almost 1200 followers for GoodVibesSF and hundreds for GoodVibesMA.

Said Sr. Director of eCommerce, Jonathan Plotzker, “We realize that social media has gone mainstream, and ignoring it is no longer an option for us.  Now we tweet about things that most businesses do -- sales, promotions, new products, etc – however we also tweet about our blog headlines, weekly free erotica, and questions to our followers ‘What does “Virginity” mean to you?’ and forward things like Sex Workers Surveys.”

Like other social media networks that the company holds (Facebook and MySpace being two of them), Twitter is a way for Good Vibrations to connect directly to their customers, to sex educators, sex-positive porn directors and stars, to the many quality sex toy makers who also tweet, and for the company to keep on top of what’s going on in the community.

At GoodVibesSF, everyone in the company is welcomed to tweet. Currently, the majority of updates come from the company’s Web and Marketing Departments. However, Good Vibrations’ Sr. Buyer Coyote Days tweets from her phone and takes pictures (TwitPic) and video ( to post while she’s out at tradeshows and meeting interesting people in the industry. Many of Good Vibrations’ staff people tweet on their own accounts, including Good Vibrations’ staff Sexologist and company spokesperson, Dr. Carol Queen. Good Vibrations finds Twitter to be a powerful networking tool with lots of potential for connecting their company’s vision and superior selection of intimate products with the world.

Wednesday, April 8th, at 1:00PM (PST) Good Vibrations will launch “Tweet with the Queen,” where users submit sex questions to @GoodVibesSF and Dr. Carol Queen will reply with posts of her answers and advice.
