San Francisco, CA -- (July 28, 2010): Good Vibrations (goodvibes.com), legendary San Francisco-based company will be hosting a very special reception for Marriage Equality USA as part of their corporate giving initiative, GiVe.  On Thursday, July 29th from 6-8pm the public is invited to learn about Marriage Equality USA’s work, and enjoy special performances by Molly McKay, Media Director and other special guests.  The gallery will also feature the multimedia art retrospective by ecosexual artists Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens (themselves a married same-sex couple--the show includes documentation of their weddings-as-performance project), wine and nibbles, and guests can win prizes by playing a round of the Newlywed Game!  MEUSA friends take 10% off Good Vibrations purchases during the event.

In June and July Good Vibrations’ customers showed their support for the LGBT right to marry by making a financial gifts to Marriage Equality USA < www.marriageequality.org > at the time of their Good Vibrations purchase.  Founded in 2000, Marriage Equality USA (MEUSA) is a national grassroots organization whose mission is to secure legally recognized civil marriage equality for all, at the federal and state level, without regard to gender identity or sexual orientation. MEUSA is headquartered in California with chapters across the country. Donations are accepted at all Good Vibrations’ checkout counters and at goodvibes.com.

Says Good Vibrations’ COO, Jackie Strano, “Our GiVe campaign(s) are a way for us to formally mobilize our creativity, enthusiasm, and energies towards causes we believe in.  We love hosting parties for our partners, and this one promises to be especially fun.  Rumor has it, I may be singing a duet with Molly McKay!  Marriage Equality USA’s mission is critical for those who value equal rights.”

For over 30 years Good Vibrations has partnered with hundreds of local and national non-profit organizations.  By donating products, advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers, along with a percentage of retail sales, the company has provided much needed support for women’s shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits, sexuality education, Breast Cancer awareness and much more.

Good Vibrations strives to be an agent for social change, through the lenses of sexuality, diversity and alternative business practices. Both within their organization, and throughout the communities they serve, Good Vibrations is committed to fostering respect, promoting supportive communication, providing access to educational resources and strongly advocating for women in leadership roles.

The GV-MEUSA nonprofit partnership highlights Good Vibrations’ longstanding commitment to LGBT rights and pride.  "Marriage Equality USA seeks not only to ensure legal equality for same-sex couples, but also to promote every couples' happily ever after," said Molly McKay, Marriage Equality USA Media Director. "To that end, we are excited to partner with Good Vibrations and encourage everyone to support their own happiness while donating for equality for all with their purchase."

Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen says, "While not everyone equally feels the urge for marriage or, for that matter, lifetime partnership, that some of us can wed while others cannot is clearly discriminatory. Good Vibrations is delighted to support the great work of Marriage Equality so that everyone will have the full range of options when it comes to partnership and pleasure."

How GiVe Works:
Good Vibrations partners with a different nonprofit organization throughout the year and encourages their customers to contribute directly to them at check-out, online and in the stores.
