San Francisco AIDS Foundation works to end the HIV epidemic in the city where it began, and eventually everywhere. Established in 1982, their mission is the radical reduction of new infections in San Francisco because we refuse to accept HIV as inevitable. Through education, advocacy and direct services for prevention and care, we are confronting HIV in communities most vulnerable to the disease. sfaf.org
The Berkeley Free Clinic was founded in 1969 and has served countless thousands in a variety of ways during its 44-year history. Fees have never been charged for any services, materials, medications or supplies provided at the Berkeley Free Clinic. Income has been generated solely via individual or organizational donations and government programs. An emphasis on education, self-knowledge and an increasing awareness of appropriate resources infuses all of our medical, dental, counseling, and information/referral services. Direct services are provided almost exclusively by volunteer lay health care workers. berkeleyfreeclinic.org
AIDS Project of the East Bay is a community based organization, dedicated to preventing the spread of HIV and supporting individuals infected with the virus through programs targeted at some of the most vulnerable and marginalized individuals in Alameda County. Since 1983 the APEB Wellness Center has been providing high quality, state of the art, conscientious care to support the health of our clients in mind, body and spirit, providing: Primary Health Care, Acute Care, Physicals, Vaccines and a variety of HIV related Lab work, counseling and free massage and acupuncture to our clients to promote stress relief, increase energy, reduce side effects of medications, and to compliment the services we offer in the Wellness Center.apeb.org
Our Bodies Ourselves (OBOS) is a nonprofit, public interest women’s health education, advocacy and consulting organization. Beginning in the early 1970s with the publication of its landmark book, “Our Bodies, Ourselves,” OBOS has facilitated the publication and in-country use of women’s health materials in more than 25 languages. The ninth U.S. edition of “Our Bodies, Ourselves” was selected by Library Journal as one of the Best Books of 2011. OBOS continues to inspire a women’s health movement, providing honest and accurate information from a feminist and consumer perspective. ourbodiesourselves.org
“GiVe” is Good Vibrations’ extensive donation and sponsorship program. For over 30 years Good Vibrations has partnered with hundreds of local and national non-profit organizations donating products, advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers and has provided much needed support for women’s shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits, breast cancer awareness and much more. Good Vibrations regularly partners with a different nonprofit organization and encourages their customers to contribute directly to them at check-out, online and in the stores.
Good Vibrations’ non-profit partnerships highlight their longstanding commitment to health and well-being for all people. Good Vibrations Executive Vice President Jackie Strano explains, “We are delighted to partner with these crucial organizations and support their efforts to affect positive social change in our communities and beyond.”
