plenty of info and fun - September 28, 2011

I got my "Going Down: Official Guide to Cunnilingus" DVD and even talked my friend into watching it with me! It turned out to be even better than I expected with some familiar faces too. I really enjoy Carol Queen's style. She is lighthearted and fun, but also informative.
I enjoyed her matter of fact explanations and I think the movie is great for people with all different experience levels. Queen dispels myths and explains some technique along with scenes of other people talking about their experience. As with many educational porn DVDs, Going Down walks the fine line of information and entertainment. Which when someone wants to get down to business can get a little boring. But I was watching even if my friend was eager to practice some moves.

I really wanted to learn more about pleasing women here. I learned a little bit, but for the most part there was nothing new. Lengthy scenes of "ordinary" (some REALLY ordinary) couples did little by way of instruction, unless it was in assuring me that that bored vacuous look on a woman's face, and the expectant patience/hope on a man's, may not be all that uncommon. I'd have liked a little more talk about technique and less soft-core porn. This hour-long movie gave maybe 5 minutes of useful information. If you are a complete rank amateur, like, uh, never gone down on a woman, maybe you'll get 15 or 20...

What I loved about this video: Dr. Carol Queen's explanation of the vulva and its anatomy with the vulva puppet (I think they are positively beautiful!). I was particularly enamoured by her expression, her frankness and her warmth in the video. Dr. Queen encourages you to understand, explore and appreciate the complexity that is female arousal and anatomy.

The candid interviews with various men and women and why they enjoy cunnilingus. Having that type of frank and open dialogue only makes it more acceptable to have these discussions in our own lives and with our own partners.

The inclusivity - gender, sexual orientation, race, age, and body types of all kinds are included in the interviews as well as the incredibly arousing segments with the couples.

worth its weight in gold - July 6, 2010

It was loaded with information and the diversity between couples and interviewees was a great way to provide a comfortable environment for anyone to learn. Lots of the knowledge in this video is worth its weight in gold, and it would be a very good film for those first venturing into the world of oral sex. I would highly recommend this film to beginners and the inexperienced, very easy to view solo or with your partner.

The cunnilingus scenes were all pretty hot in their own ways. Four of the scenes showed male-female pairings; the other two scenes featured the same two women (Chocolate Chip and Jolene Parton) switching roles. One scene I found particularly hot was between Mickey Mod and Madison Young, where she's sitting on a stool and he's licking and palming her. The one scene featuring "queening" (where the receiver sits on the giver's face) was pretty good, too. I hadn't thought to reach back and stroke my boy's cock when I sit on his face until I saw the scene.

I recommend this film to people who want to learn some basics about cunnilingus, or for people who aren't sure how to begin/improve communication with their partner(s) on the subject. It's educational and entertaining with a modest but notable value of rewatchability.

It’s very reassuring to have other people tell you that you’re not weird because you don’t like x, y or z. There are many, many ways that oral sex can be enjoyable and you aren’t doing it wrong. It’s important to relax, do what feels good and to let your lover know when something just isn’t working for you.
