Fine porn movie June 7, 2009

I came to the movie from a gay transman perspective - I live in a conservative city with a conservative gay community, and men bolt towards the door the moment I display any interest in them. And the trans community is not very big, so I often feel alone out there in trying to connect to other men. Based on all that, I needed a pick-me-up for my sexual self-esteem, and Cubbyholes certainly delivers on that. This is no amateur production: camera angles, scenes etc. are very much like in other gay porn. The variety of body sizes was actually a plus over average gay porn were everyone is lean and muscular etc etc.

The big revelation was certainly how beautiful trans men are, how beautiful our cocks are, and beautiful we are when we come. And also, that real desire and chemistry between trans- and nontrans men absolutely exists. Enormously positive to see all of this on film.

Minuses: The dialogue was very hard to understand; the persistent car noise in the background was nuisance (I switched off the sound for long stretches because of it); and I felt the emphasis on safer sex bordered on being obsessive. But I realise that's a very subjective point, and there is certainly an argument in favour of demonstrating safer sex approaches in sex play with and between trans men.

Amateurs.....there could have been so much more done with such a groundbreaking opportunity. This film was absolutely awful.
