"The Mia vibe is an excellent travel companion: It’s small, it’s cute, and here’s the best part: It charges in your USB port. “When it’s not plugged into your laptop, it looks like a tube of lipstick,” says Queen. So charge it up and throw it in your weekend bag or carry-on."

Fab for Gentle and Discreet Vibration November 12, 2014
I prefer a gentle vibration (the ubiquitous and worshiped Wand is way too much for me), and the Mia is perfect for that. What's more, it's very quiet and small enough to truly be the ideal travel companion. Normally my go-to even at home, especially to get me warmed up.
It has a cap that comes off to reveal a USB portit looks exactly like a large USB "thumb" drive. Recharging is simple and relatively quick, with a pretty long play life on each charge.
My only complaint is that the shape isn't that ergonomic and the hard plastic is slick (not textured), so after a while my hand gets tired of holding it, especially if I'm moving it quite a bit. But I'm totally delighted with it, and looking forward to my next work trip...
Pretty but doesn't deliver January 10, 2010
The Mia is like the pretty guy you should just "be friends" with. It's too small, expensive and simply can not deliver.
I had a $20 vibrator that was a 12" french tickler design that I LOVED. I thought the $70 Mia would rock my world but alas, someone designed this thing for an 8 year old. I don't know what was going through the product designer's head, but he/she is delusional if he thinks that a grown woman can be satisfied by a vibrator that's 4.5 inches with the power of an Easy Bake Oven light bulb.
Silly me for not inspecting the product further.

This is a beautiful packaged item. It is very quiet as well. But there just is not enough power. It barely tickles.

Mia is pretty easy to work with – the controls are pretty intuitive, although without reading the instructions one might never know that there’s more to life than “just” the solid vibration setting. I cycled through everything once before settling on the highest straight vibe setting; it was great to tease myself with, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that the Mia just wasn’t going to be able to get me off. My clit is a big fan of a lot of motion, and while the Mia has awesome vibration, it just doesn’t “move around” as much as I needed it to. I tried circling my clit with it, rubbing it feverishly across my clit, and eventually my hand got tired.
Then the epiphany happened. I reached into my nightstand, grabbed my trusty Jolie vibe, and moved that to my clit while transferring the Mia’s vibes to my nipples. WOW. That was the best move in the world for me! The Mia is PERFECT for my nipples – between the semi-pointed tip offering very focused vibrations and the small diameter that made it easy to roll over the hard nubs, I was able to get some intense sensations and pleasure from it despite the fact that it didn’t quite work for me on my clit.
As a card carrying geek, there's only one real improvement I can see possible with the Mia - just imagine how awesome it would be if the Mia were also a USB drive - memory AND orgasms all at once!
Sweet, Petite, Discreet! December 16, 2008
I’ve been a fan of Lelo products since I was first introduced to them a few years ago. Jelly novelty vibes with misspelled packaging are all well and good when you’re 18 and broke, but now that I’m in my mid-20s I wanted a better class of sex toy.
Thankfully, Lelo’s resoundingly answered the call with the Mia vibrator. I was delighted to find it was all I was hoping it would be, and then some! It was just as compact and discreet as it looked, elegantly packaged, and had functions which I didn’t remember reading about, but was happy to discover upon reading the easy to understand user manual.
The box it arrives in has a glossy slipcover over a black box that is durable and perfect to use for storage. It has a tidy plastic tray that perfectly fits both the Mia and her cap, and all the accessories underneath. With this cute vibrator comes a USB cord (the Mia can also plug directly into the computer, but it’s nice to have an optional cord for discretion or tight spaces), a white satin drawstring pouch, a one year manufacturer warranty, and the user manual.
Mia is no larger than a tube of lipstick, and shaped so it would easily pass for one in the jumble of a purse. When the cap is removed and the vibrator is plugged directly into a USB port, it looks like a flash drive or memory stick, preventing any raised eyebrows or prying eyes from discovering your secret. The Mia is smooth plastic, with a rounded tip that’s perfect for clitoral play. I received the pink version, but there’s also a lovely maroon purple available.
Sure, she looks pretty, but how does Mia perform, you ask? Admirably. The vibrations are super quiet, but more than enough to deliver, especially at the highest level. The silicone pad has small + and – buttons that light up when you press and hold them, allowing you to see as you scroll through vibration speeds and three pulsing patterns. I believe there are ten speeds in all, but it’s a bit hard to tell, especially in the middle of the range. My advice is to just hold down the + key until it feels good.
Because the Mia has a silicone pad, I only used water based lubricants with it to be safe (Silicone lubricant bonds to silicone toys and can ruin them). With the cap on, there is what looks to be a silicone seal that keeps lube and secretions from messing up the USB plug, which is a nice touch. I played with Mia with the cap on, because it made it much easier to maneuver and use – I have to imagine it’s designed to be used this way.
For every two hours of charge you get 3-4 hours of play, so this is one case where a rechargeable sex toy is both hassle-free and doesn’t sacrifice power. I just keep my Mia plugged in behind my computer when I’m not using it, just like a cell phone, so it’s always ready to go. My one complaint is that it seems strange Lelo didn’t go a tiny step further and make this computer powered vibrator a computer controlled one! I’d love to see a Mia 2 that is able to be controlled remotely through the internet.
