I went in the store and was in a bit of a rush and on a limited budget, so I picked this up on a whim for a weekend with my GF. We don't have a lot of experience with toys--this thing is great for beginners or those of us new to this. This thing is wonderfully and carefully designed. When we use it together it's a wonderful foreplay teasing tool...when she uses it alone, it makes her orgasm in 60 seconds or less. 'nough said.

This vibrator does a great job of stimulating the vulva and clitoris. The adjustable speeds are helpful--you can start with a low vibration and build up. Do check the batteries--they have to be inserted in the correct way or the thing will just turn on at the highest vibration.

I don't see how you can use this underwater, though, as one reviewer said. It's not water proof. In fact, when you clean it, I think you have to be careful of water getting inside through the battery cap. Let it dry out before using again. This might be why it broke so soon for some.

I bought this vibe about two years ago; it was my first vibrator. I like the simplicity of the vibe as well as the variety of speeds. This medium intensity vibe brings me to orgasm every time.

Laya is easy to clean and the batteries are easy to change. I found that it is best for solo-play and is a bit too bulky for intercourse.

I've had two of these little ones in two years because I love how it hugs me so well, and I like a medium-level vibe. It works very well when it works. However, the motors have broken down really quickly, like some other reviewers said...and it runs out of batteries pretty quickly, or even if it doesn't run out completely, lower battery juice means a significantly lower vibe.

Now that I know other people have had the motors die on them, I'm look to greener fields, and rechargable ones at that.

so i've had this little gem for three years. yes, three years, same wonderful toy.

the only thing i can think is that some other folks got duds, because if the batteries are fresh she definitely packs quite a vibrational punch so to speak.

the design is perfect for external stimulation or insertion, easy to hold on to. i could go on and on.

out of all of the toys i've ever bought, this has been the best.

should mine finally die one day, it will be swiftly replaced with another.

I've owned this vibe for several years, and it's still working fine after many many uses, some of it underwater.

The vibration is strong enough for me - I rarely go to the higher levels, and appreciate the fact that it can go to a very low buzz on its lowest setting. And the cute non-threatening shape makes it very easy to introduce it as a couple's toy.

And, while the engine of my most recent one has started acting weird (it only works when the cap is on, and on one speed) I'm going to keep buying this one because it's so amazing!!

Hi cherry ghost-

I'm a SESA (sex educator sales associate) at one of the stores. It sounds like you put the batteries in backwards- if so the vibe turns on as soon as you close the cap, not when you turn it on by holding down the plus for 2 seconds. You also wouldn't be able to change the speed. If you switch the batteries around you should be good to go. The laya is a consistant best seller for us in the stores and it is very rare to get back a defective item. Hope this info helps!

What a waste of fifty bucks!
First, I bought it in the mail. It came and was broken.
But, the VERY good folks at distribution sent a new one, free of charge.

This thing has very little punch to it.
It's like a cat purr. And not one of those intense, drooly muffin-making purrs. It's vibration is super weak. And not to mention it has too many settings for such a weak vibe.

Fabulous design but, no kick.
If you like a hard working vibe this is not for you.

The one perk: it came with a sample of BodyFluid Lovegel... OH MY GOD!
If you're usually an oil person, this might make you want to switch.
I did and my sheets are thanking me for it!
I even went out and bought a bottle the next day.
No really, it's that good.

(pardon me, eric clapton!) she didn't hold up, she broke down rather quickly til now she's just a loud rattly buzz ... and there was never any control over those speeds and vibe patterns. laya needs some remastering!
