Good Vibrations Supports the National Breast Cancer Coalition Through its Nonprofit Partnership
Pioneering Sex Positive Retailer’s GiVe Program Makes Giving Feel Great
San Francisco, CA (September 18th, 2012): Good Vibrations, the trusted San Francisco-based company that takes pride in providing accurate information on sexuality and toys for grown-ups, has announced a new partnership and promotion with the National Breast Cancer Coalition as part of their corporate giving initiative, GiVe.
From September 15th to October 31st Good Vibrations’ customers can show their support for the fight against breast cancer by making a financial gift to the National Breast Cancer Coalition at the time of their Good Vibrations purchase where 100% of their donation goes to NBCC. Online shoppers can contribute directly at checkout and learn more about their donations program on the GiVe Partner page.
The National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) was formed in 1991 with one mission: to end breast cancer. NBCC has accomplished much over its 20-plus years bringing about unprecedented research funding to the worldwide scientific community, forging new collaborations to design research and set priorities, expanding access to information and care to underserved women, and launching unparalleled training programs to prepare advocates around the globe to work side by side with scientists, policy makers and health care providers.
NBCC is dedicated to ending breast cancer by January 1, 2020 through the power of grassroots action and advocacy. NBCC supports increasing funding for breast cancer research; monitors how those funds are spent; expands access to quality health care for all; and ensures that trained advocates influence all decision making that impacts breast cancer.
The Good Vibrations - NBCC nonprofit partnership highlights Good Vibrations’ longstanding commitment to women’s health and well-being. Good Vibrations’ Executive Vice President Jackie Strano explains, "It has been wonderful to collaborate with our vendors on this meaningful promotion. We appreciate the work that NBCC does. We are proud of our company’s core mission, vision, and values and this campaign brings those principles directly to our customers in a fun and engaging way. Everyone can feel good.”
For over 35 years Good Vibrations has partnered with hundreds of local and national non-profit organizations. By donating products, advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers, along with a percentage of retail sales, the company has provided much needed support for women’s shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits, sexuality education, disaster relief and much more, detailed on their GiVe page.
Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen says, "We're especially excited that this organization's terrific work includes advocacy training so that women themselves be such a powerful influence for fighting breast cancer. Just as Good Vibrations' focus has always been empowering women to be the true experts about their own sexuality, NBCC makes sure women's voices and experience are central to this critical health issue."
